Overcast!
Atmosphere / 2001

You've got to represent Atmosphere if you're from Minnesota. Now I can finally say that we have more than Dylan and Prince, thank god. DJ Ant's beats are priceless on this album and I love how Beyond spits on a lot of the tracks with Slug, making it more fun to listen to.

Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium
Rage Against the Machine / 2003

You ever feel like giving the system a piece of your mind? You ever feel rebellious and like you want to point out whats wrong with the world and America? Well that's when its time for some Rage and you can't get anymore Rage than their live album. Sometimes I feel like I'm right there, at the concert, man that would be sweet.

Abbey Road
The Beatles / 1967

I could listen to "She's So Heavy" for the rest of my life. I get lost in the guitar solos. And the transitions, they are so smooth. The Beatles at their best, in my opinion. Creativity and pure rock and roll. Also, I get to listen to this album on vinyl a lot so that pushed it in to my top ten

Hail to the Thief
Radiohead / 2003

I know this isn't the best Radiohead album because otherwise I would say Kid A hands down but Hail to the Theif is so easy to listen to. Any mood fits that album for me. Also, its just pure Radiohead, like they were just jamming in the studio, building off of their own sound.

Transatlanticism
Death Cab for Cutie / 2003

This was one of the first albums that really made me branch out from mainstream music. Thanks to Death Cab, I soon found the world of music many never get to experience.

Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers
The Wu-Tang Clan / 1993

They changed rap music forever. This album set the bar a step higher for everyone. Bottom line, 36 Chambers is so awesome. It includes great classics that I'll never get tired of, and it has so many great MCs on one album. RIP ODB.

Good News for People
Who Love Bad News

Modest Mouse / 2004

The simple lyrics is what I love about Modest Mouse. They say the obvious things in a very creative way, in a way you have never thought about before. My favorites are "Bukowski" and "Blame it on the Tetons," both are straight up really blunt about the ways of life. You've gotta love these guys for their attitude.

The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
Explosions in the Sky / 2003

Uplifting. Moving. Poetic. Explosions say so much with out lyrics. They make beautiful music and if I ever need to be moved or just relax and snooze, I throw in this album.

Gorillaz
Gorillaz / 2001

The Gorillaz's founder, Damon Albarn, is one of the coolest guys ever, right after Jim Morrison, of course. Their music is so creative. I love electronic influenced music and I also love hip hop, making Gorillaz music for my soul. It's just a great LP to cruise to.

Animals
Pink Floyd / 1977

I love Pink Floyd. Just about every album is incredibly captivating. There's just something about how this album that fits together, so perfectly. I also love the content, transferring the great novel "Animal Farm" and turning it into beautiful 70's music. Floyd was ahead of its time and I'll always be impressed with this album.

The Almost Made It List:

Dummy by Portishead (1994)

Velvet Underground & Nico
by Velvet Underground (1967)

Ten Silver Drops
by The Secret Machines (2006)

Third Eye Vision
by Heiroglyphics (2001)

Parachutes by Coldplay (2000)

The Contender:

Because of the Times
by Kings of Leon (2007)

good news for albums who love bad news . . .

I just love that hip-hop electronic music, and her voice is so unique!

If I'm in the right mood, this LP is one of my favorites, but I have to be in that mood.

Anytime I listen to Ten Silver Drops I feel so content because it reminds me of stress free summer days

I can't get enough of Del the Funky Homosapian.
There, I said it.

This was the first good album I ever owned. Parachutes was the start of my collection and for that, it will always have a place in my heart.

This one's in the player right now and maybe someday it will take the place of one of the fifteen. . . until then, it's my summer of 2007 album.
