I am not a modern country fan. I admit, the only reason I bought this album is due to her family name and the tributes to her parents and step-mother. I was very impressed and have continued to be surprised by her generally consistent musical past. The lyrics are heartfelt and true, reminding me of her father. The music is beautiful and, well, “country” while staying creative. There is not much originality, but that doesn’t hurt my view of the album since the intimacy and creativity within each song vividly expresses the purpose of the project.
SUM IT UP: down to earth and genuine
