by Tim Mathiesen In the same group of buddies as Sufjan Stevens and Danielson, Half-Handed Cloud has definitely been influenced by both. Whether it was the other way around, it doesn't matter, because it's all so interesting and creative. While Sufjan and Danielson are definitely better, Half-Handed Cloud brings a more amateur and innocent quality to the table. Variety is not a quality that they possess, but they do bring a unique point of view to Christianity and they do it from a fun, child-like perspective. While listening to Half-Handed Cloud, we are transported back to Sunday School as a child and we are taught about the struggles and triumphs of Christian living all over again, but now as an adult through the eyes of a child. |
