by Tim Mathiesen What can I say? They changed and it doesn't look like they are coming back anytime soon. Is that a good thing? I always love change as long as it's for personal growth. Since Belle and Sebastian's last album, Dear Catastrophe Waitress thay have let in a little David Bowie, Elton John, Talking Heads. They stretched their sound to the verge of falling apart. Have they continued to be successful? Oh, yes! The Life Pursuit is taking the current popularity and influence of David Byrne and adding their own twist. This is not as edgy as the group, Clap Your Hands, Say Yeah! but their polished sound brings us back to the 80's without actually leaving what we love about the present.
