Psychedelic rock during the 2000's from Sweden? Did you ever think that would ever fit comfortably in the modern indie rock world? Dungen made it happen. A collection of psychedelic rock in a Jazz improvised fashion makes up the amazing album, Ta Det Lugnt. I have no idea what their Swedish lyrics mean, but the creativity drips with inspiration from the 60's and the originality, accompanied by respect and admiration from critics and musicians alike, helps them slip quietly into the indie world. The album contains constant improvising on the lead guitar and 60's rhythm on the drums and bass, laid over creative strumming of acoustic or electric guitar, often with subtle distortion. Besides the obvious 60's influence there is a lot of evident influence from Radiohead, Super Furry Animals and some signs of Sigur Ros. I don't know if it's due to the foreign language, but the album actually reminds me of a rough-and-tough version of the album, Mwng, by the Super Furry Animals.

SUM IT UP: psychedelic folk rock
