Setting the record for the UK's fastest selling debut record of all time, the Arctic Monkeys had some help, actually a lot of help, from the internet. Creating an immense amount of hype by spreading their demos through the internet, they were signed to Domino and quickly earned two number one singles and many raving reviews. The music itself is nothing new. Imagine the White Stripes performing music written by The Strokes. It's definitely a fun album, and I can understand the popularity, but the originality is not there and it's not a ground breaking album at all. I don't think that was the intent of the album, though, so I'm not going to hold that against them. It's meant to be enjoyed. Maybe tap your foot and bob your head, a bit.

SUM IT UP: punk infused "Hot Fuss" by the Killers
